Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards or otherwise known as the ESPY Awards begun on the year 1993. This annual sports award giving body is created and broadcast by a television network; ESPN. As we have different award giving bodies such as Grammy, Emmy, and many others for the appreciation of arts, music, movies and the like, ESPY is an appreciation of excellence in sports performance.
Selected by the ESPY Nominating committee, the nominees shall be subject to voting of fans, broadcasters, sportswriters, sports persons, and many others. Some are the awards to be given during the said event are, to wit:

ESPY Awards Nominees will win the awards through the number of votes that they'll get via online voting at ESPN's website. The 2009 ESPY Award Winners will be announced in a scheduled award show this coming Sunday. The ESPY's are known for it's immense concern for charity. The said event's tickets, a portion of which, will be donated to the V Foundation. The Arthur Ashe Courage Award is another ESPY highlight, honoring an individual for their personal courage or charitable works outside the sports arena, for the record including such trailblazers as Muhammad Ali and tennis star Billie Jean King.
Last year's ESPY was held in Los Angeles, California and was hosted by pop singer Justin Timberlake. This year, you can Watch ESPY Awards 2009 Live in the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, a mid-sized music and theater venue seating 7,100. The 2009 ESPy Awards will be hosted by Samuel Jackson. American professional golfer Tiger Woods is by far the most-honored ESPY recipient, having captured 21 awards. This event is truly an anticipating one! As to the people waiting for it, broadcast will be on ESPN, July 19, 2009 at 9 p.m. ET.
