He won his last 2 fights by knocking out his opponents which also rewarded him with knockout of the nights honours, The 6ft 1” Brazilians biggest achievement though was being recognised among the elite in the business with his nomination for ‘Best Fighter’ in ESPYs 2009 awards, only missing out to boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
Rua obviously has inherited the sporting bug from his athlete mother. He also has 2 brothers heavily involved in the mixed martial arts.Most of the family also regularly run marathons to prove how far the bug has gripped them.
