WBC lightweight champion Humberto "Zorrita" Soto will defend his title for the first time against the challenger Ricardo Dominguez on May 15, 2010 in Los Mochis, Mexico.

Humberto Soto was able to bag the title belt after he pounded David Diaz into submission in their undercard match in the Pacquiao-Clottey headline fight. He was the obvious winner of that fight, although he did have some troubles. It seems like that he is still adjusting to the 135-pound weight limit. Soto was considered a top feather weight contender, until he moved up to 130 pounds after pouncing on Rocky Juarez last 2005. He won the interim WBC title of that weight class, which he later upgraded to the full WBC belt.

Dominguez, on the other hand, is a good fighter. He may have a lot of very bad loses compared to his wins, but those are from very good opponents he shouldn’t have fought in the first place.
